Find a Realtor
How to start the process of finding your Realtor…
Step one:
Identify a couple that you might want to work with. You can talk to friends or family members. You just want to make sure that they have purchased or sold in the last year or so so that their experience is relevant. Don't just ask who they work with. You got to know how it went. Did they feel supported the whole time? How easy was the realtor to get a hold of? How did the realtor communicate with them? You want to make sure that the realtor naturally communicates the same way as you do. Which means if the realtor doesn't like to text message and you like to text message, you might be in trouble.
Ask your friends if there was anything that they would have changed about their transaction or anything that they wished the realtor would have done different. If that's something that would bother you, exclude that realtor from your options. Or it might just be something that you want to pay attention to or ask about.
Step 2:
Once you've got a couple of names, it's time to dig. We're talking online presence reviews. Find these people on social media. You want to be working with somebody whose values align with yours, whose personality you might enjoy. You're building a relationship with a person who's going to help you sell or purchase one of the most expensive investments that most people make. So it's important that you get along.
Most reputable realtors are going to have a lot of reviews, and they should be good. Also, take a look at where they're working. Most real estate websites show the houses that those realtors sold, which can indicate to you how often that realtor works in the area that you want to live in or sell your home in their familiarity with it. As a realtor, I can work in any area, right? If I frequently work in the area that you're hoping to be in or that you're selling your home from, that can definitely help, right?
Step 3:
Once you've got a short list of reputable realtors who seem like they might be a good match, give them a call, simple conversation, or text that says, “Hey, my name is (your name here), I'm looking to buy/sell. I'm hoping to interview a couple of realtors. When would be a good time?
Then you have the opportunity to talk to each realtor and make your decision from there. Once you choose, then you'll sign an agreement that officially hires them and you will call that realtor. From then on, if you need any information about anything, don't know what interview questions to ask these realtors, let me know. I'll make another video.
